The Artwork
Sometimes, behind a simple fountain, a message of friendship may be hidden. This is the inner intention of the artist Salvatore Carta, who through his work symbolically wished to bring the embrace of his Sardinian homeland to Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The artist’s craftsmanship completes the message and makes the work even more precious. It speaks of the desire to learn, to work with dedication and passion, and to place one’s technical skill at the service of others — values that have always united peoples and cultures.

In a difficult world, full of conflicts, the embrace offered by this fountain is powerful.
Its long arms welcome and draw together people and communities.
It is a place of encounter, exchange and communication.
The work becomes a bridge between humanity and the earth, merging into a single whole… from it, life flows.

The Artist
Salvatore Carta is a Sardinian artist. Born in Oristano, he has always lived in Fordongianus, where he first developed a passion for stone carving and later for sculpture, specialising in the local trachyte stone.
Through experience in local workshops, he achieved remarkable technical mastery. His interaction with the material and his commitment to valuing the culture and traditions of his people have led him to express himself through a simple, direct and engaging language — authentic and sincere.
