Pietra Aurisina
The Artwork
It is life replicating itself. The woman, evoked through the grace of suggested forms, transcends and becomes other than herself. In this work there is no suffering. The artist does not wish to see it and dematerialises the event. It is the new being who “unrolls” the mother in order to free its own wings. But it is not an angel. It is a child.
Livio Comuzzi
The Artist
Born in Vientiane (Laos), Huynh Van Hoang has lived in Italy since 1979. He attended the Passaglia Art Institute in Lucca and, from 1990 onward, devoted himself to stone carving, participating in group exhibitions and presenting solo shows in several Italian cities.
In 1996, to refine his marble-working technique, he worked at the Leonardi studio in Querceta, where he met sculptors and craftsmen from around the world. Since 1999 he has taken part in international sculpture symposia in Italy, Argentina, France, Spain, Hungary and other countries.
Many of his works belong to private collections in Italy and abroad. He favours figurative art and is often recognised and appreciated by both the public and critics for his technical skill.
