The Park of Marisa Troiano

To observe the work created by American artist Carole Turner, one must enter Parco “Marisa Troiano”, home to the association “Insieme si può” (a non-profit organisation composed of families and friends of young people with disabilities). Here, surrounded by greenery and a strong spirit of collaboration, numerous activities take place.

The sculpture stands at the centre of the spacious park, embraced by trees and the energy of the surrounding nature. The artist created a work titled Silence, inviting us to reflect on how necessary it sometimes is to withdraw from everything in order to regain our inner strength. One only needs to pause, listen to nature and observe the beauty around us.

Silenzio (Silence)

Far from the constant daily buzz, from raised voices and artificial sounds, the artist withdraws into her creative silence. With elegant, enveloping lines, she synthesises a closed body — sinuously harmonious — curled up in defence of its own space and engaged in silent dialogue with the soul, with what we conceal from others and reveal only to ourselves.

The meaning of the work lies in its intention to recreate a moment of meditation, a pause from the senses, which becomes increasingly essential to understand who we truly are.
